Our Approach
Dialogue for Truth, Reckoning, & Repair guides community members through a structured process to connect, investigate, reckon with, and repair unresolved harms and injustice from our shared history.
Our work is grounded in several core beliefs:
- The truth will set you free, if you reckon with it.
- Accountability invites us into our dignity.

The Path from Truth to Repair
Truth
We connect neighbors with local historians, storytellers, and community members who have documented or experienced local history. Participants investigate records, identify perspectives, and dialogue about what they discover — setting the stage for honest reckoning.

Reckoning
Community members witness their shared history and its impact today. We coach leaders to design inclusive public processes for accountability, acknowledgment, and apology, fostering collective understanding and dignity.

Repair
Once history is acknowledged, participants hold restorative dialogues to plan meaningful repair. We guide residents as they weigh options, decide together, and turn their plans into sustainable, community-driven actions.
